ADVERTISING WORK AND MORE

Young & Rubicam Advertising Agency

Title: Creative Supervisor in "Concepts" think tank division. Participated as copywriter and new product innovator.

Worked on the following accounts: BirdsEye, Frito-Lay, Gaines Dog Food, Tampons/Modess, Dream Whip, Geno's Pizza, Eastern Airlines, Milton Bradley/Playskool and the Dracket Company.

Wetherell Design Associates

 New product consultant and inventor to toy industry. I conceive, develop and contribute marketing directions for my toy inventions: dolls, games, crafts, and boy's action figure concepts. Making presentations to Mattel, Hasbro/Playskool, Tyco, Western/Golden Books, Parker Brothers, Fisher-Price, Kenner, Galoob, and Playmates. 

American Association Of Retired Persons AARP    

Consultant for Women's History Month project, three years. Developed woman's questionnaire called One Woman's Profile and did subsequent analysis of responses. 

Designed built and organized exhibit of profiles at New York Citicorp Center Atrium, Lincoln Center and Philadelphia's Market Square including organizing of daily entertainment and press promotion. 

New York CITY Dept. of Housing, Preservation and Development

HOUSE SENSE PROGRAM: Educational consultant for promotion of good housing curriculum. Liaison between program and South Bronx inner city schools. Organized community interest to pursue better housing through awareness of tenant's rights using students K through High School. From onset, coordinator of annual city-wide Housing Fair.

Pathways For Youth

Organization maintaining summer camps in Bear Mountain State Park for low income urban youth and year around Castle Hill Community Center in the Bronx. My participation was an active ingredient in the development of on-going, community-based advisory board at the Castle Hill Center.

FACT (Food Animal Concern Trust)

Consumer Advisory Group promoting safer meat and dairy production. Fact's goal is both to achieve a healthier product for public consumption and more humane farming conditions for the raising of livestock. I participated in marketing of NEST EGGS, an associated company that raises and distributes eggs laid by free-range hens.

OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE

New York Zoological Society (Bronx Zoo)

Title: Coordinator Of Educational Services/ Children and teenage programs at The Central Park Zoo. Developed and directed daily public programs using visual aids geared toward teaching wildlife conservation to the public. I solicited, trained and supervised a staff of 65 young volunteers from varied cultural, racial and economic backgrounds to act as zoo guides and lecturers. Their activities ranged from giving live animal demonstrations to puppet shows and management of a zoological souvenir shop.  My responsibilities included promotion of the program by appearances on TV talk shows≤ daily dealings with the media, writing press releases and the development of unique zoological visual aids.
